Ascent Trip ReportDid a hike up Mt. Sneffels today. The night before we drove in and though we might be able to make it to the upper trailhead with the lifted Tundra. No go. Super scary narrow, steep road, with huge rock steps and a rolled jeep down the cliff when you peer over. We camped down near the lower trailhead, and started hiking up the next morning. Met a pair of sisters from New Mexico who were attempting the rock step in their highlander. We helped them navigate it for awhile and they got through, so they gave us a ride to the upper TH. We hiked with them most of the way and chatted. V notch wasn't bad. We went right going up and standard left going down. I played a lord of the rings jig on the tin whistle at the top. Fun hike with good views. |
