Ascent Trip Report

From ENE, Cortijo las Santas, drove forest roads to shortcut onto route described by Martin R, but then soon encountered water damage with channels to negotiate, then a rough rocky section. My car already in a delicate state, I parked and walked, Steve's start point. Ordinarily I'd probably have made it in my Focus. But made a nice circuit...

Up via signed waymarked route thru nice pinewood to join MR route at Callado de las Viboras, marked path to summit, old square trig pillar with large centre-marked bolt, presumably a primary trig station. Down via MR route, good parking at road end, road seems in reasonable condition, better than lower down. 2 marked shortcut paths, then a short easy bushwhack to regain outward trail just above signpost.
2h up, 3h30 round trip.
I take the forest road out west to 37.97613, -2.54668. Some awkward channels. My approach as per GPS track was better.
