Ascent of The Eaglet on 2021-09-05Date: | Sunday, September 5, 2021 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | The Eaglet | Location: | USA-New Hampshire | Elevation: | 3000 ft / 914 m |
Ascent Trip ReportApproach is steep but doable. Look for the cairn on the left side of the Greenleaf trail about 0.5 mile in and turn up. Continue up until you reach the obvious start of the climb on your left. Brutally up, but it's over soon enough.
For the actual climb, the climbing is weird for 5.7/5.8. One big step move on the first pitch requires some faith in your foot and maybe a little dynamic movement if you're shorter but the handholds are great. Gear placement is nice up past the small slab patch into the second pitch. Chimney is annoying to get through, but is bomber for beached whaling and putting full body weight on the rocks. Tat is present at the start of the second and third pitches for rappeling. We combined pitches 2-3 easily. Rapped off the summit block (really nice bolts). |
