Ascent of Shriner Peak on 2021-09-25
|Date:||Saturday, September 25, 2021|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||5834 ft / 1778 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThis was my 100th peak on the list of Rainier 100 peaks.
We started at the trail head at 8.30AM. the pullout is 200 feet ahead of the trail head when coming from enumclaw. The pullout can accommodate upto 14-15 when back in parked. Aka parked perpendicular to the road
That being said, we lucked out on the weather. One of the most best days on the Aix area, as we had no smoke from the Schneider fire and had crystal clear views of the Cowlitz chimneys, double peak, bald rock and so many more Rainier 100 peaks
Adams and StHelens were also putting up a show
The trail is soft with pine needles most of the way. We get out of the trees after gaining 2000 feet and fall colours were the brightest of the entire season. The summit is an old fire lookout, which is one of the last 4 left.
Left a summit register below the lookout in a new pile of rubble.
There is no water along the route, but there's a camping area (requiring reservation) and toilet at the summit. I'd assume one would have to haul water up here if you plan to camp
We saw a ranger hike up on our way down..we probably saw close to 30 folks that day. With 10 from our group alone
