Ascent Trip ReportPeak 84 of 100.
After bagging Olsen and South Peak, I made my way back to Trumbell campground. Took my vehicle to Kavanaugh Ridge 4x4 road. Had to park my non-4x4 vehicle at Kavanaugh sign and make the long hike up on road. Turned off road at mile 1 and made to the north ridge. Climbed up west on ridge to unknown peak and made my way down to saddle between unknown peak and Dunderberg East. Hard climbing! Class 2 and 3, but steep! As soon as I arrived to the East summit, my legs were on fire. I managed to push on to the main summit of Dunderberg and took a well deserved nap. Headed down same route.
**There is an easier route to Dunderberg main summit, but it will require a 4x4 vehicle. Drive from trail head road sign to about a 1/8 mile before kavanaugh ridge. Make heading due south to small saddle between east and main summit. This would be quicker and not as grueling as what I had to endure.
