Ascent Trip Report

Excellent scramble. Car to car. Roosevelt- kaleetan. Started at Alpental. Up to gem. Follow my track it’s perfect. Only issue with my track is actually right after the saddle above chair peak lake. Fun day. Too bad I was running down and half a mile from TH I broke my wrist!

Up to to Roosevelt my track is great. Followed bootpaths mostly. A walk up basically.

The decent from Roosevelt to chair peak lake wasn’t as bad to me as others described. Others had mentioned using an ice axe for the scree in that gulley. I had no problem just being slow and careful where I stepped. And not being in fall line of my partner.

Around chair peak lake, we went left around. Was great walking. Then ascended some snow some rock/mosses up to the saddle. Felt great. Saw two goats.

To kaleetan. Somehow this wasn’t right what we did. Well initially it was. We went right At the pass, following boot paths. I believe we ascended too quickly, and should have followed the cliff line around to hit the Boulder boot path up to the white ledges. I scrambled up some stuff I would rather not have and would not have gone down. My partner however watched me then I suggested he hug the tree line, which worked great. Just don’t do my track here.
