Ascent Trip ReportWe met our guide in the queue for cable car in Tatranská Lomnica and took the cable car up to Lomnické sedlo where we started our hike. Ascending with good pace and enjoying the first views, we got to the place where we had to put on the helmets and tie ourselves to the rope. Shortly after that at the fork we kept to the left and chose the Birkenmajer route which is known for exposed climbing with several difficult sections. Climbing the rock walls, wisely choosing places for feet and fingers we found ourselves only a few meters from the observatory at the top of Lomnický štít summit. After we enjoyed the views from the top of the mountain we started to descend through Normal route. This route is fixed with chains and much easier than Birkenmajer. We ended our hike taking cable car to Skalnaté pleso and quick walk to Zamkovská chata and Starý Smokovec. |
