Ascent of Seven Fingered Jack on 2021-07-30Date: | Friday, July 30, 2021 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Seven Fingered Jack | Location: | USA-Washington | Elevation: | 9100 ft / 2773 m |
Ascent Trip ReportHiked into base camp 7FJ basin. No one else camping there, nice surprise. Set up. Ascend following Gaia track a lot of the way honestly.
Oh also one party member had flat tire from when the road starts to get bad. Drive slow and avoid those sharp rocks.
Went a bit farther left of Gaia track towards the top summit. To start, leave camp, follow main path, ascent well-established bootpath past the second waterfall (first fall may be dry). It’s very obvious. The first time I did 7FJ we didn’t have advanced tech and ascended much farther on. Never do that. So much loose rock. Many in and out sandy/loose boot paths once you get up higher. Careful at top not to dislodge rocks. Not too bad. Overall easy day. |
