Ascent Trip Report

Left East Texas around 2am and got on the trail by 1:30pm. Calves started cramping on the way up so I just struggled up to Pine Top to set up camp. The switchbacks seem never ending with out-of shape lungs and cramping legs. The winds were supposed to become severe the next day so I decided it was best to just head down in the morning. Beautiful weather and scenery, much warmer (60s) than typical for February.
