The drive to the TH is awful, something like 20 miles of narrow, gravel roads, so be prepared for that.
The 3.5m hike in to the climbers trail is extremely easy and fast, passes a few good camp sites once entering into the Glacier Peak Wilderness.
Climbers Trail was really worn in, steep initially but then mellows out eventually near the basin.
Exiting the established trail above the basin, there are many routes. I avoided the snow, stuck to the rock, but there are worn in climbers paths through the scree that sticks to dirt somewhat well that provides some decent footing. Kept gaining elevation and moving north. The true summit is hidden behind a finger that is a false summit until you pass by and are about 100’ shy.
Was going to tag Maude also but I was chased off the mountain by swarms of mutant horse flies |
