Ascent Trip Report

Great trail culminated by a horribly shitty bushwhack. I headed down from Cuyamaca on the Conejos Trail, which was almost entirely covered in snow or transformed into a stream bed. From the 5 way junction, I headed up the eastern section of the loop trail around the peak. From the high point on the trail on the north side, I headed due south to the peak through some of the thickest brush I have ever had to navigate. The bushes that have grown back after the 2003 fire really suck.... Limited view from the summit, but there were 2 summit registers. I signed both and put them together for future hikers as one was hidden. I found a better way down to the northwest and took the western side of the loop trail back down. Pics
