Ascent Trip ReportThis hike one of the shortest routes to summit Lee Peak. From the Upper Bristlecone trailhead, we hiked along the Bristlecone Trail. We took the old Bristlecone Trail (aka No Name) off to the left and continued up until we met the junction with the Wallace Canyon saddle trail. Following this trail we reached the Wallace Canyon saddle. From here we took a sharp left hand turn and followed the north ridge of Lee Peak all the way to the summit. There are several obstacles to avoid on the way up and there is intermittent use trails and cairns to guide the way. Depending on your skill level you may want to stick close to the spine of the ridge in which case you will have up to class 4 climbing over some of the cliff bands. There are always some workarounds if you aren't feeling up to the climbing. These workarounds are mainly found going around the climbers' right of the ridge. At the summit there is a large cliff band that you can workaround either left or right. We ascended on the right and descended on the left. A very fun albeit steep hike. This will test your cardio fitness.
