Ascent Trip ReportAfter driving through Providence and making a fair amount of turns we got on RI 101. We passed through Foster and saw the signs for Jerimoth Hill, which had a pullout for half a dozen cars on the north side of the road. We parked and walked the trails south after crossing the road. There's a very slight uphill on the short hike. Along the way there's the Jerimoth benchmark and a witness post, but those are not on the summit which is an exposed piece of bedrock near a clearing with two rundown sheds and footings for a tower. This was state #29 for Artski and me, and #14 for mom. There were no views to be had, but that made the rain and wind gusts less consequential. The forest was nice to be in regardless. We spent about as much time at the top as we did walking there and back. |
