Ascent Trip ReportThis was a moderately challenging hike cross-country on a simple use-trail. This hike is not for beginners as you need to be able to navigate and it’s steep. Also, there’s one section near the beginning where you’re traversing the hillside that gets a bit technical and sketchy. You really need to take your time here so as not to have your feet slide out from underneath you.
Now with that said, I enjoyed this hike a lot. It’s another peak on the Sierra Club Hundred Peaks Section list, and this is Route #1.
The summit has been bulldozed and isn’t much to speak of, but you can see Mount Emma and Old Mount Emma to the North as well as Mount Gleason to the West and Josephine Peak, Strawberry Peak, Granite Mountain and Mount Pacifico to the South. |
