Ascent of Peak 7690 on 2021-05-17
|Date:||Monday, May 17, 2021|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||7690 ft / 2343 m|
Ascent Trip ReportShort but very tiring hike. The lower slopes are golf-ball sized pumice stones and they don't hold together at all. Getting up it was difficult and I had to run up 10-foot segments just to get behind some bush so I would slide back. Once on the ridge, I walked around the crater rim counter-clockwise. The summit is on the far east end, about 20 feet higher than the spot-elevation on the south rim. This is apparently a geocache site as the register held a handful of names mentioning the cache thing.
