Ascent Trip ReportNope. I tried to climb this from the last tram stop in Grenoble at la Poya and took a wrong turn. I walked out of the city and up through the village of les Gorges before finding a track that runs along the river beneath the road. I then turned West and headed up to les Brets. I lost the way and ended up at a dead end. While I was wondering what to do, I noticed someone gesturing in the distance. Using hand signals I determined she was calling me over in her direction. She came out to meet me and showed me the way, around the side of a barn and up a faint path, eventually reaching le Fournel. There's no way I would have found this path otherwise. At le Fournel, I followed the road up, and then presumably took the wrong path. This led way too far North, eventually putting me at a group of huts at Sornin. I had a train to catch at 2.58 and had wasted too much time and energy, so followed a large track back down. A very disapointing outcome after putting in a huge amount of effort and largely getting my map reading spot on. |
