Ascent Trip Report

I started at the base of the ATV trails where people consistently shoot targets. I started hiking up the road, which was a gradual grade at first but became extremely steep(nearly 40 degrees) at some points. It was very hard to walk up. At the top of the ATV road there was a trail that was present that was unmaintained. Walking on it approximately 0.5 miles brought myself to the summit of West Mountain. The views were good, and the orange triangulation tower stood on top with the benchmark present. Very cool hike, but very enduring and lots of gain in a short period of time.
