Ascent Trip ReportA week ago, I tried to locate the trailhead for the pack trail that comes up from the north, but I was unable to. I just assumed I'd see it from the highway. I didn't know at the time that I had to pass through a gate and drive in a mile or two to find the trailhead. This kind of information just wasn't available at the push of a button in 1997.
So a week later, I drove back to approach the peak from the south, and because I had a low-slung passenger vehicle at the time, I had to park early, and walk the road to the top. It was just a long, long walk, but easy. To me, a road is just a wide trail. They are topologically identical. I didn't see anyone the entire day. |
