Ascent Trip ReportWe went up the water canyon road, which was in great shape most of the way. We checked out the old mining tram and the old asphalt mines. The ribbons of color in the striated formations were very beautiful. We also saw an frozen waterfall, which was nice. We tried to drive to the summit of Bruin Point, but once we got to the final switchback the road became too muddy for us to continue, so we turned around.
We also investigated the coking kilns near Sunnyside, the old bathhouses and bunkhouses in Whitmore Canyon, and the numerous archaeological sites in Ninemile Canyon. I've added up all this mileage and elevation in this entry.
