Ascent Trip ReportReportedly, according to French websites, this mountain is (or used to be) forbidden. The owner, who lives in the farm just below on southern side (Brésil in maps) was apparently fed up with problems between hikers, his herd and protection dogs, so he decided to ban climbing this mountain at all. People then turned to Col Lescou (N) as an alternative route, but some websites also show pictures of signs prohibiting the entry from there as well.
I climbed from Col Lescou out of grazing season and I did not find any animals around. I didn't see any of the signs prohibiting the passage either (although there was a deteriorated sign, rusty and unreadable, at the start of the trail...). |
