Ascent of Alphubel on 2019-09-04Date: | Wednesday, September 4, 2019 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Alphubel | Location: | Switzerland | Elevation: | 13799 ft / 4205 m |
Ascent Trip ReportGuided climb via Feejoch. The ridge up to Feechopf was completely snow free, so we removed our crampons. An exposed but technically easy climb, followed by a snow/glacier plod to the summit. It was late season and the route up the South East ridge was out of condition, so we needed to go up the East flank. We descended down to Langflue, over a very heavily crevassed glacier. Some of the snow bridges were very thin, but thankfully held. |
