Ascent Trip ReportA great conditioner to do when avalanche conditions are high everywhere. A mostly sunny forecast was mostly cloudy but we did get a few sun breaks and nice territorial views of surrounding peaks, especially Russian Butte - looks so dramatic with the clouds swirling around it.
With all the new snow, trail breaking was a chore so we were fortunate to hook up with another group of 4 for a total of 11 people taking turns breaking the trail to the summit. Not sure either group would have made it without the other so it worked out perfectly.
It was warmer than expected due to the lack of wind. It was very calm except for a slight breeze at the summit
Roundtrip was a bit over 13 miles and just over 4,000' elevation gain. A little over 8 hours car to car.
