Ascent Trip Report

First hike since a vacation as a kid to Old Forge. My coworkers and I came up to the Adirondacks for 4th of July weekend. We stayed at the Evergreen cabins attached to the Tail O The Pup restaurant. The trailhead is about a 5 minute walk from the cabins, but there is also a parking lot at the trailhead if coming by car. Trail includes a relatively long hike before the actual climb begins (including a bridge over a swampy area with some nice views). Climb is mild to moderate, no problems for a group of people with mixed experience. False summit has limited views, best views are at an opening before the summit. A heavy rainstorm began while on the summit, so trip down was slick and wet.
