Ascent Trip ReportWe ascended DPS route B and descended route C. Having done it as a loop in that order I would recommend reversing the order; route C up the canyon and the descend route B down and around the backside if I were to do it again. Route C has some fun waterfalls and pour-offs that would have been a lot more fun going up than down. It's also typical DPS loose in the upper canyon, so easier facing in going up than facing out going down. Ascending route B it was easy to stay on solid rock so I think that would be a decent descent route also. A few other notes of interest: - People go at the bottom 600' of route C two different ways; one way goes right up the canyon, the other goes above the canyon and then merges. Going above the canyon and merging is easier (cl 1) - Route B has no cats claw or any other prickly plants. Route C has cats claw through the middle-upper canyon that can often be avoided but not entirely |
