Ascent Trip ReportRode sleds 5.2 miles from 1400’ trailhead on Richardson Hwy to 3,800’ elev. Skied up the glacier unroped to summit breaking trail through 12” new snow on windblown hardpack. -14F when we left the truck at 10:30am in bright sunshine, but really cold. Returned to the truck at 3:30pm at -3F. Flat light came in at 2pm, making the ski and sled descent tricky. No wind, and safe avalance conditions. |
