Ascent Trip ReportReached summit of Mt. Hitchcock on the Holyoke Range traverse with R.R. Trail on the west side of the mountain is ridiculously steep - ice and gusty winds did not help matters. Remnants of a fire tower are immediately at the summit - we were surprised to find that the peak rises above the 1000' mark (Barely - the sign says 1006'). |
