Ascent Trip Report

Liebre ("Hare") Mtn. in the northern reaches of Angeles National Forest is a 9 mile round trip hike through pine and oak groves, with views of the Tehachapis and the eastern end of the Antelope Valley. The trail rises from Pine Canyon Rd. 3+ miles up the Pacific Crest Trail to the Liebre Mountain Ridge. Hit the high point of the ridge, where we found a cairn and a register, before descending to Forest Road 7N23. Continue north along the road, with views of the Los Padres National Forest and the I-5 corridor, until you reach a wide, flat summit plateau, where we found a pile of rocks under an oak tree and the summit register.
