Ascent Trip ReportNET Section 5, Rt 202 to Rt 141. The trail was clear of ice and snow, and only saw three other people on the trail all afternoon. The summit area is about 100 yard or so west southwest of the old lookout tower. Three small rocks stick up out of the ground at the top of an obvious rise in the land. They appear to be the highest natural ground, and very near the spot on Peakbagger. The trail does not go over this bump, so you have to "bushwhack" to it. No views from the summit, but the NET goes over and along numerous ledges and overlooks on this section, so you aren't deprived. Distance: 4.95 miles. Elevation: 1086 feet. There's a lot of small ups and downs along this section. Time: 2:05 moving, 2:30 total at the most. There are a lot of places to stop and take pictures. |
