Ascent Trip ReportSecond time up Willey Field and Tom and I gotta say...kind of an underrated hike. Winter-like conditions (cmon...one day off) definitely enhance these three (4), giving them all some peeks and glances both at the presis and over to the west. The Avalon summit has great views, the lookout just past the Willey summit is a super cool view of Washington.
Was expecting the A-Z trail down from Tom to be a slick ice luge but was pleasantly surprised by the nice pack. Good day out there today.
MSR Lightning Evo snowshoes the whole time. Oboz winter boots need to go I think. 10” high and heavy af. Plus the 400g insulation doesn’t seem all that great. Time to look into some better options.
