Ascent Trip Report

Parked at the Cottonwood Campground and headed cross country on the desert floor to the canyon west of the summit. There was no use trail to follow. Once reaching the canyon, followed it up to the ridge/saddle. This part was very steep and slow going. There was a marked use trail from here to the summit. There were a few false summits along the way, but reached it and signed the register. I was running short on daylight and did not stay long on the summit. Returned along the same route, but my return on the desert floor deviated too far south, so follow my outbound tracks. Reached the car after dark.
