Ascent Trip ReportAfter much time marching around in the mountain woods, I felt completely out of element walking down the beach in my hiking clothes.
I didn't have a off-road car and it was a nice day so I decided to walk it. Lots of traffic for a misty, foggy day. No ponies but lots of prints in the sand.
I didn't find anything remotely close to a high point in the declared original location. I understand sand dunes move. Here's what I found as the high point: 36.427735, -75.841817.
I did visit the suggested Three Dunes location. Same problem there. Either my gps is way off or thee coordinates for the outbanks high points require adjusting.
