Ascent Trip ReportStudied the way up for this route a lot and then in typical fashion I didnt quite go the way I planned. All the ridges up from Indian valley reservoir meet in the long ridge where pacific point tops out. I took ohv trials well off to the west for the first mile. (Steep ones!) eventually it hit the forest road and from there it was just following until the faintest side trial splits off to the top. Foundation and slab from the lookout remain and not much else. Views to the east on a clear day include all the valley and the mountains up to Lassen. A couple of spots could even see Shasta as a ghost on the horizon. Comforting to the see the full covering in snow up north. Winter is finally here. |
