Ascent Trip ReportTrail from BRP is longer but much less steep than Sharp Top and also a lot less crowded (no one on way up, only about 8 on the way down). However, it is very rocky, so it's not for the sandles and flip flop crowd.
The only question is which rock outcrop is the high point? There are two rock candidates. The easy one next to the Flat Top sign, and the one near the overlook that requires a little bit of rock climbing to get to the top. Standing on the BM (which is directly between the two rocks), the one near the overlook looks higher by about a foot.
Note that this is a 4000' peak as the 3994' topo elevation is to the BM which is clearly short of the summit. The sign elevation of 4001' seems right to me.
