Ascent Trip ReportCamped off Whitney Pocket road in Gold Butte National Monument, 2 wd low clearance accessible, then up by sunset to drive, using 4 wd to park past the “corral” as far as Amin was comfortable in his Humvee. We hiked 5 miles to the summit from our parking area on the gravel road and then cross country to the summit with 3500 feet of gain on the ascent. Bushwhacking was very minimal and knife edge was really not a knife edge as far as my standards, and I do not like 3 rd class! |
