Ascent Trip ReportOn business trip in MI. Drove to the second entrance of Maybury State Park off of Beck Road in Michigan near Ann Arbor. Parked and started following the maze of winding trails, horse paths, bike paths and roads and even bushwhacked some till I found the apparent highpoint as shown on the PB site. Took about an hour including the running. I later realized the main entrance off of 8 mile road would put you at a parking lot very close to the HP but then again - I wanted some exercise and i got it. Somehow jogging the trails in my Sperry topsiders without a warm up caused me to pull my hamstring.
It was unseasonably warm again in MI (second trip in 2 weeks this year) with the high around 60 with no breeze even at 5PM. I ran, walked, jogged, hiked until i found it. Some hilly terrain in the back. Most leaves were off trees so was not particularly scenic but that helped when i was bushwhacking from one trail to another.
