Ascent Trip Report

Eastbound on USA/Canada Boundary swath ...... 1km, 45 minutes RT.

I approached this hike from the Canadian side. From the center of Frelighsburg we traveled south on Hwy #237 for 1km to a left turn on Chemin Richford, then east for 1.3km to a right turn on Chemin Mcintosh. We drove south on Chemin Mcintosh and where it makes a sharp turn left we stayed straight (south) on Chemin de la Poste de Boston to its end at the cul-de-sac, a small house is on the right (this is 3.3 km from Chemin Richford). This was my TH, a beautiful apple orchard area on the side of a hill ..... apple aroma in the air, great views to the north, great clear comfortable day .... I loved this outing

I walked south, on the path inside the narrow patch of woods, for 200M to the USA/Canada Border. Turned left (east) and continued/climbed eb on the Boundary Line Swath, passed-by the cast iron Boundary Monument 609 and the granite Boundary Monument 608C, before arriving at the granite BOUNDARY MONUMENT 608B by going around a wet boggy area (about 300M along the swath).

The east/west Boundary Line Swath goes right over the summit area of this unnamed hill.
BOUNDARY MONUMENT 608B is at the height-of-land of the Boundary Line .... my GPS read 45.01603, 72.79887. The HP of this unnamed hill is to the north inside the Canadian woods (I didn't try to identify "the" HP).
There are beautiful grass fields on the USA side, this spot offers great views to the south into Vermont, especially this time of the year (my very favorite). Looking west you can see the swath to the next hill with Boundary Monument 614D and to the east you can see Ayers Hill with Boundary Monument 606 on its North Slope (our next destination).
The Boundary Swath has been recently cut .... it was very difficult to walk through the cuttings, I chose to walk on the sides of the swath in the open woods.
