Ascent of South Twin on 2020-06-28
|Date:||Sunday, June 28, 2020|
|Ascent Type:||Unsuccessful - Turned Back|
| Elevation:||6650 ft / 2026 m|
Ascent Trip ReportLittle bit of everything. Bushwhack, boulder field runway, mostly melted basin, steep snow, ridge scramble (of course). South facing gullies to summit (supposedly the easiest way up) required some traversing over steepish snow in low visibility later in the day, so turned around at "the notch". On a clear day w more daylight probably fine class 3 maybe 4 in current conditions. Continuing straight up the ridge would definitely be class 5... not for me without a rope.
