Ascent Trip ReportI was able to park at the "Ledges" parking lot, which is small and holds 3 cars. I was the first one there in the morning. There is an overflow lot a few 100 feet that you pass on the road.
Once you reach the summit, on trails, well maintained, a total of 73 steps take you to the fire tower observatory, but the top is closed due to COVID. Tower built in 1909 and gorgeous corkscrew stone staircase.
I logged several red-breasted nuthatches, black capped chickadees, ruffed grouse and several sparrow. Glorious fall foliage formed a carpet that was reminiscent of Joseph's coat.
I loved this hike.
