Ascent Trip ReportCompleted the Carne-Leroy High Traverse CC as a day hike tagging Carne and Mount Maude (standard South slopes route) along the way. Had aspirations of tagging 7FJ as well, but decided against it. Although I reached Leroy Meadows within my planned time cut-off to begin an ascent of 7FJ, the legs were not feeling favorable to it and it seemed prudent to not push it more based on how I had been feeling up to that point. It just means I'll have to come back for that and Fernow (and so many others) another time, what a burden. Regardless, it was a spectacular day. Only saw one other party until Maude/Ice Lakes basin. The HT trail is in good shape overall right now and is easy to follow. It is pretty well cairned in the few places that it might become confusing. The snow from last week had melted out more or less entirely, so there were no particular challenges in route finding or ascending Maude (although some snow might have made for a less tedious walk up the scree).
