Ascent Trip ReportExcellent condition trail! Not a single log across the trail. Approach road had 1 downed log that I squeaked past in the Outback. Other than that, the road was passenger car accessible. I wanted to take the Bolton/Jones route from the east, but the main forest road 29 was closed for repairs that could possibly last for another few months. Best to check the Gifford Pinchot NF website road conditions. I took FR-28 to FR-2809 and slept at the TH the night before. On my hike back from the peak to the car, I encountered a number of dirt bikers which explains why the trail is so well maintained as I don't think it sees many hikers. A shame really, it is such a pretty area.
