Ascent Trip Report

It was a foggy morning in the mountains. I bushwhacked east from the Bald Face Mountain Overlook to intersect the AT, followed that northeast to the summit area, then bushwhacked east to find the actual summit. The summit is not distinct; the top of the mountain is rather flat. The true summit appears to be east of the point currently marked on Peakbagger and close to (or on) the county line as marked on the USGS topo. Bushwhacked back down, staying on the AT a little longer before heading back towards the overlook, but this was not a better route than the one I took up. Depending on which path you choose, some small cliffs might get in the way, and today there were plenty of nettles... glad I had on long pants.
