Ascent Trip Report

Parked at a small parking lot on Skyline Drive just north of Tanners Ridge Overlook. Accessed a road just north of the parking aera, followed that to a junction with a yellow-blazed trail and turned left. This wet, grassy trail led to Tanners RIdge Road. FOllowed that down to the AT crossing at the N edge of the cemetery. Took the AT into the woods looking for the intersection with a bridle trail shown on the USGS map and it turns out that trail is gone. Instead I bushwhacked from the AT southwest to the summit. To return I bushwhacked east to the road then followed that all the way to Skyline Drive and walked the road shoulder back to my car, which was simpler and faster.
