Ascent Trip Report

Second summit of the day after Lewis Mountain. The Bearfence Mountain parking area was blocked by cones when I arrived (though it was open later in the day), so I parked at the next parking area to the south. Crossed the road and headed a little south, followed a fire road a short distance, and picked up the AT and headed north. Switchbacks lead up to a junction with the Bearfence Loop Trail, and this leads reasonably close to the summit. Mild but rocky bushwhack leads to the distinct summit. I followed to loop trail to a short access trail leading back to the AT, then continued north to do Bush Mountain next.
