Ascent Trip ReportAfter visiting Montgomery Pass the winter before, the Diamond Peaks made my To-Hike List. On this summer afternoon, I loaded the dog into the Jeep and drove up Cameron Pass. It's a pretty straightforward route from Montgomery, simply following the grassy ridge over a couple of false summits to North Diamond's summit. The view over to the Nokhu Crags and Richthofen are astounding. I had planned to add South Diamond in, too, but the late start made me want to get back to the car before dark. Maybe next time. The North is the higher peak anyhow. |
