Ascent Trip Report

A nice Sunday afternoon hike with some friends. The last time I took the Andrew Brook Trail was 2013, which I think was before the trailhead was conserved by the Forest Society. For a Sunday afternoon, it seemed excessively busy. There were cars lining the road by the trailhead for probably 1000 feet. The trail was as I remember it. A nice route to take, but not nearly as exciting as the Newbury Trail. We stopped for a break at Lake Solitude, which was nice and peaceful. The weather turned out better than expected. We continued past White Ledges and took Solitude Trail to the summit, where there were fewer people. We wandered around the ski trails for a while, taking in the extensive views, then headed back to White Ledges.
