Ascent Trip ReportOn my way back from South Kinsman, I still had seen only one person for the day until I approached North Kinsman. a group of three mothers and daughters passed me heading south. I stepped to the side fo the trail and scared one girl who didn't notice me at first. Then it was back over the top of North Kinsman on the trail, or so I thought. There turned out to be a 10' boulder on the north side of the trail's crest that sticks up higher. This required a class three move just to get my arm up to reach the top.
On my way down I saw maybe half a dozen groups or more heading up. I also decided to peak into the big shed as I passed it again and found it to have sugaring buckets and a two person saw.
Then it was back to Burlington for lunch for me. I had timed it right and the rain for the day was only a couple hours away, but I had clear visibility under gloomy overcast during my time up high. I drove through several bands of rain on my way home. |
