Ascent Trip ReportI left southern California at 6 a.m. and drove up to Tuolumne Meadows, packed up my backpack, then started up the trail at 1:15 p.m. I hiked south on the JMT, west on the Vogelsang trail, and then south on the Ireland Lake trail, arriving there at 6:00 p.m. and setting up camp after doing about 10.7 miles. The next morning, I left camp at 7:10 a.m., generally following Dean Gaudet's 09-09-2017 GPX up to Parsons Peak and then down to the county high point. The upper part of the route up to Parsons Peak is class 2 talus. Also, I did not locate a summit register on either summit. Afterwards, I returned to Ireland Lake, arriving back there at 10:15 a.m., packed up, and was back at the trailhead at 2:40 p.m. Trip stats include ascents of both peaks. |
