Ascent Trip ReportReally lovely hike just a tad long, 15 miles for Wilson and 10416.
Took me 7 hours 43 minutes car to car with 6 hours 12 minutes of moving time.
Great views of Lone, Sphinx, Fan and Gallatin peaks and on 10416, a look down into Bozeman.
Only saw one other party all day, a group of three going up the summit ridge as I was descending. Bring your bear spray and make some noise as you hike!
I typically go out of my way to add scrambling if I can, however I never really saw anything that looked too fun (or challenging) and mainly stayed on the faint climber trail most the way up from the saddle. 10,416 was a nice bonus peak and had lots of interesting blue rocks which shimmered with quartz grains. Pretty easy and close sub peak, why not add a few extra view filled miles?
