Ascent Trip ReportEasy hike up a well maintained trail. Trail head was easy to find and has ample parking. Road in was bumpy, but could cruise at 25mph.
Around 2 miles in on trail, you intersect an old road that parallels the trail up to the Cold Stream Crossing. The road was rocky, but the section we walked was passable with any high clearance vehicle. This road can be picked up just before the trail head. If there are no gates or other obstacles, one could drive all the way to Cold Stream. This would shave off 4 miles round trip and 900 feet of gain. There was a set of fresh tire tracks on the road.
Summit had a giant swarm of bees. My son got bit/stung on the hand. It started swelling and it was a first for him, so we decided to pass on the north peak. By the time we were down to the car, the completely blue sky had filled with thunder clouds.
Summit register is a mess and needs a new notebook. Ogul #29
