Ascent of Wallace 9 Benchmark on 2010-09-30
|Date:||Thursday, September 30, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Motorized Transport to Trailhead:||Car|
|Peak:||Wallace 9 Benchmark|
| Elevation:||2129 ft / 648 m|
Ascent Trip ReportOnly 15 minutes from I-81 exit 7 to the summit.
City has built a water tank on the summit, but the gravel road from Georgia St is gated and posted. Better access is from Indiana Street, following Fred Lobdell's 2001 directions on COHP. At the end of Indiana Street, park beside the gate, follow the gravel road up to the ridge, turn left through a clearing with an old camper and building materials, and then make your way to the top of the hill. The summit has been leveled and the BM is not evident. Circle the fence and you'll cross the remaining HPs.
My 40th COHP.
